Choosing the Right Laptop Size
Laptops offer function and portability, and their efficiency in these two areas depends on the sizes. Another good way to categorize them is through display sizes.
10-inch to 12-inch
This size range is the thinnest and lightest laptops around. They weight around 3 lbs, which makes them perfect to fit your bag. However, they’re not really designed for heavy computing tasks, and the keyboard can be cramped for many users.

People looking for this size opt for portability and easy-carry over anything. In this case, the 12-inch Macbook (2015) is one of the best choices out there. It is insanely light and thin, only 13.1mm thin and weighing just 923 grams. It is clad in aluminum and comes in three chic colors namely grey, silver and gold. It comes with Apple’s very own ‘Retina display’, as the 12-inch screen runs at 2304 x 1440 resolution. This means sharp and vivid image quality with impressively thin bezels.

HP Spectre x2 is another great option. It’s a 2-in-1 laptop (tablet and laptop in one), which means you can have the flexibility and dependability of both. It comes with the Intel Core M design, meaning, it runs as fast as the Core i5 chip, while being more efficient and economical in battery life. This product delivers great value and performance.

Build quality is excellent as well, as lid and base are made up of solid aluminum. The keys are backlit and well-placed, and the trackpad feels so smooth to run your finger on. This 13-inch screen runs 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, which offers excellent colour accuracy and contrast ratio. There’s also a 3200 x 1800 touchscreen variety.
13.3-inch MacBook Pro (image from Amazon)
For Apple fans out there, there’s the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro, which is undoubtedly one of the best 13-inch laptops available in 2015. Though it sports the same design as its previous models, it still looks uniquely fresh, as it looks both attractive and tough with its aluminum unibody. Also, it sports the new Force Touch Trackpad, which replaces the standard click mechanism using four sensors and electronic magnet that intuitively detects how strong and smooth you press down. It comes with an IPS screen that runs 2560 x 1440 resolution that offers accurate and punchy colors with deeper blacks, while the 2.7GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor powering the entry-level model delivers super-slick performance.
