Design and Features

There are five (5) levels to choose from for gamma settings, hue adjustments, saturation, brightness, contrast and color temperature. Users can also adjust the Dynamic Contrast, Aspect Ratio and HDMI RGB range through the Advanced Settings menu, or set the Eye Protection feature from the Ergonomic menu.

The BenQ BL2710PT comes with a lot of I/O, including the two (2) USB 3.0 ports mentioned above, which are located at the left part of the monitor and two (2) more USB 2.0 ports located at the rear part of the device. Also, the back of the cabinet houses the inputs for all the different connectivity options you need for connecting the display to other devices, such as DVI, VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort video inputs, alongside with the USB 3.0 upstream port, an audio input, a headphone jack, and four (4) VESA-compliant mounting holes.

 

Adjustable Stand for Ergonomics

This monitor features a solid and fully adjustable stand that which makes for a comfortably ergonomic workstation. The height can be adjusted up to 5.91 inches, while the monitor can be titled up to 5° forward and 20° backwards), swivel 45° both left and right, and rotate 90° clockwise to switch between landscape and portrait orientation.

The screen sits low to your desk at its lowest height level, with a clearing of only 0.59 inches, which means the monitor just barely sits on top of its stand.

Though a little pricey, the BenQ BL2710PT is quite a solid performer is almost all areas. The CAD friendly touches and the wide array of convenient and cool features makes it a very worthy computer monitor. It performs really well in both gaming and watching movies. It shows good details in dark areas and contrasting bright elements such as fires and tracers, which are common in FPS games like the Battlefield 4¸though there are some detail loss towards the edges of the screen. For movies on the other hand, this monitor shows good level of details without causing any loss of details.

The minor drawbacks of this model would be its  color accuracy and dark grayscale reproduction. But apart from it, it’s a very well-equipped monitor for basic computing or even designing use. With that said, this monitor offers different picture modes, including the one optimized for CAD software. Also, it comes with a utility that makes everything easy accessible and adjustable for fine-tuning with the use of the keyboard and mouse.
