Victor DC350 Sit-Stand Desk Converter; An In-Depth Review

In the world of aftermarket computer accessories, few brands have established their names as one of the most trusted names from different markets. Victor Technology for example, made a name for itself by making sophisticated and high quality scientific calculators and financial calculators. A few years ago, they ventured into computer accessories, taking the same principle in quality through their desk converter Victor DC300. The product was received with great reviews, as it combines all the things you can expect from a top-of-the-line desktop converter. Now, they have a new product for dual monitor users, a new and improved version named Victor DC350. As with its smaller and older sibling, DC350 features independently-adjustable monitor mount, putting it in the same category as some of the best sit-stand solutions in the market, such as Ergotron WorkFit-A, WorkFit-S, ErgoDesktop Kangaroo, and Humanscal Quickstand. What makes this thing different, if not better? Check out this in-depth review from Dual Monitors Guide to know more.

Who is it for?

Victor DC350 as with its smaller sibling, is designed for computer users who work on their desk for extended period of time on a daily basis, and want to counter the sedentary lifestyle and inactivity of sitting with standing. It’s a sit-stand desk converter that gives users the best of both worlds – provide comfortable and ergonomic work setup for both sitting and standing, allowing users to switch setups easily and conveniently any time they want.

Benefits

The Victor DC350 is the dual monitor version of the brand’s earlier desktop converter Victor DC300. The two look almost exactly the same, except for the fact that the former is a lot bigger, as it is intended to handle dual monitor setup.

The mounted screen does multiple things all at once; for one, it secures the monitors in place, keeping them safe when switching from sitting to standing position and vice versa. Two, the mount system allows full adjustments for the screens, each screens can be adjusted independently from each other, they can pan, tilt, and rotate. Also, since the monitors are mounted, users will have the most comfortable and ergonomic view of their screens in whatever setup and position they wish to do. That means they can look straight to their screen throughout their work, no need to look up or look down and strain the neck and shoulders.

Design and Features

Victor DC350 belongs to freestanding desktop riser class, along with some of the best in the market, like Kangaroo and Winston.

Heavy Steel Base for Solid and Stable Support

This freestanding desktop riser comes with a heavy steel base plate underneath the work surface to provide stable, balanced and solid base. It keeps the whole thing secured on the desk, prevent accidental trip over, and make the whole thing compatible with any flat and level desk surface. More so than desktop riserwhich generally depend on desk edge clamp or grommet to secure on the desk. Also, you need not to worry about scratching your precious desk or table top.

Plus Stabilization Rods to Reinforce Stability

What is even more impressive about the build quality of this product is how it reinforces its security and stability on your desk, with the help of two stabilization rods. They’re placed under the user edge of the work surface and works by keeping your worksurface more steady and prevent coffee from sloshing around while you type on your keyboard. We’ve seen something similar from Kangaroo before.

Bottom Line

The first thing you will notice once you receive this product is how perfectly it fits on your desk. The worksurface looks big, and the whole thing actually looks and feels big, especially when you have mounted two screens for dual monitor setup, however, the footprint of this product is small. Despite the small footprint however, the solid steel base is heavy and feel immovable, making it sure your beloved screens are stable and safe.

The table top area is spacious enough to accommodate your keyboard, mouse and even some of your stuff. It raises and lowers easily and smoothly, something many converters out there fail to offer.

Two things to note about the Victor DC350; one it’s got a great price. Most systems like it are a lot more expensive, making it a great solution for users on the budget. The second great thing about it is it allows users to adjust their monitors independent of the worksurface. That’s actually quite a big deal, as many systems in the market would only let you do it with tools, which means you would have to put it out of height, and leave it there. Or, some systems don’t even come with a monitor mount, which means you would have to purchase them separately, costing you more money.

All in all, Victor DC350 Sit-Stand Desk Converter is an amazing product. It’s also affordable, if not cheap, considering all the things it offers, quality and the price of many of its competitors.
