Provides Effective Cooling System

Many people don’t believe in the efficacy of laptop coolers, saying the cooling system in most new laptop models today are enough to keep the computer in perfect operating condition and avoid overheating. However, with laptops heating up due to heavy work, it’s easy to understand why most people still opt to equip their laptops with external cooling system. One way to test the efficacy of laptop coolers is through SpeedFan and Hyper PI, both are software applications used to measure the test system of the cooler. Based on Pro-Clockers test, Thermaltake Massive23 LX Laptop Notebook Cooler scored a drop of 4C in temperature across the board compared to no cooler at all, that’s effective cooling for you.

Single Big Fan for Better Cooling Without The Noise

Many people think the more fans a cooling pad has, the better cooling it can provide. The truth however is that, it’s not just about the size of the fan, it’s also how fast they spin. The faster they spin however, the noisier the fans are. On the other hand, bigger fans they don’t need to spin faster to provide good airflow, as their sheer size is enough to blow air into the laptop. Ultimately, they don’t result into noisy operation, making them a great solution for office or rooms where you share working space with other people. It spins at 600RPM, making only 17 dBA of noise.

Ready To Use, Simply Plug-And-Play

As with most laptop cooling pads, Massive23 comes in ready-to-use through plug-and-play. To get this running, simply plug the USB cord to your laptop’s USB ports and voila! You have a working cooling pad for your portable computer.

Thermaltake Massive23 LX Laptop Notebook Cooler is a slim and lightweight, thanks to aluminum, plastic and rubber materials. It comes equipped with a huge and well-placed 200mm fan inside. It is designed for laptops ranging from 10 inches to 17 inches. Switches for the fan and light are located above the USB slots. The whole thing feels good to touch, like it’s a one solid unit. The only thing that feels cheap are the On/Off buttons for both the fan and light. Luckily, we won’t be subjecting them to heavy use. Either way, we know for a fact that the brand standby their products.

Rubber Strips To Hold Your Laptop

This cooler utilizes rubber strips to keep your laptop secured on top. The same rubber strip is also used on the back side which keeps the cooler from sliding when used on any surface.

Bottom Line

Thermaltake Massive23 LX Laptop Notebook Cooler is definitely something you can recommend to other people using laptop. We know for a fact that the internal cooling and small tight space of laptop cases are very limited in its ability to provide good air circulation for the computer. For heavy laptop use, the cooling fans inside the laptops definitely needs help in ventilating the whole system and keep everything in good operating temperature and avoid overheating.

Of course, we can’t expect an extremely huge drop in temperature, but 4 to 8 degrees drop in idle or full load can make a substantial difference in the long-term health of your laptop. Also, laptops over 1 year old should be dis-assembled and cleaned, because laptop coolers can’t help laptops with blocked exhaust.

Again, the huge and slightly slow-moving fan is capable of moving tons of air with little to no audible noise. All you will hear is a smooth swoosh of air, and not the fan itself.

If there’s anything this product can improve, it would be its lack of adjustability for its laptop speed. Also, a height adjustment would improve the ergonomics of this device.

All in all, the Thermaltake Massive23 LX Laptop Notebook Cooler is definitely a good deal for its price, and worth a consideration if you’re looking for a cooling pad that you want to take with you anywhere you go.
