Benefits

Great Display for a Great Price

The BenQ GL2460HM is a multi-purpose monitor packed with features. It has the good combination of aesthetic appeal and peak performance, alongside with comfortable use, however you want to use it. It sports brilliant image quality and comes with features that improve viewing comfort, making it a perfect choice for professionals who work in their computers for extended period of time, every day. And it also has a good pixel response time for entertainment and games.

Decently Accurate Color Reproduction and Good Grayscale Performance for Beautiful and Crisp Display

Based on chromaticity test, this BenQ display is able to deliver most colors accurately, red and blue are pretty accurate, as they stand close to their ideal CIE coordinates. Green on the other hand, is slightly off its ideal mark, but it’s not a big issue at all, as it doesn’t cause any noticeable saturation or tinting of the test images.

For its grayscale performance, the TN panel allows the screen to produce darker blacks and punch up colors with good shadow details. DisplayMate 64-Step Grayscale test shows smooth transitions over the dark gray shades, however, it has issues in showing lighter shades, as lightest grays seem a little whitewashed, resulting to washed-out highlight details. This however, is a common issue among TN panels.

The overall color performance gives the screen the capability to display crisp high-def videos, even in playing action-packed Blu-ray movies such as The Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Solidly Fast Pixel Response for Smooth and Competent Gaming

The BenQ GL2460HM is a solid gaming monitor as well, thanks to the quick 2ms (gray-to-gray) pixel response and 10,5ms input lag (measured using Leo Bodnar Video Signal Lag Tester), users will get to enjoy smooth gaming experience with this display and fire commands in the keyboard with faster monitor response.

Decent Viewing Angle, But Far from Great

Like most TN panels, viewing angle performance of this BenQ display is decent, but far from the ideal. There are some noticeable color shifting at around 60° from the center when viewed from left and right, and dark when viewed from bottom and top angles at around 60°.

Bottom Line

The BenQ GL2460HM delivers good color quality and smooth motion, allowing the monitor to handle high-definition contents at smooth and crisp performance. It has vibrant colors and darker blacks that make colors pop, alongside with fast pixel response for smooth high definition videos and action-packed games, but it falls short in terms of convenient features, no USB ports and DisplayPort input. The stand is also very limited, as it only allows tilt adjustments. And like most TN panels, this display’s viewing angle suffers from narrow angle issues.

The BenQ RL2460HT offers similar performance, multiple HDMI ports, lots of gaming presets, and with fully adjustable stand.
